Passing
- Can not pass the ball when past the line of scrimmage
-There is no back of endzone
-Can not pass to yourself
-If ball hits wire, it is still in play
-Laterals are legal
-Does not count as a completion if you are behind the quarterback or line
of scrimmage
Catching
-Only need one foot in bounds with possesion of ball for a catch
-Once your two feet hit ground with the ball you are in play
-You can catch ball off curb
-If ball hits a car of pole or anything else besides ground it may be caught
and played, as long as the ball did not stay in contact with surface
-If two players come down with a pass, and both have possesion of the ball,
the first player to make contace with the ball has possession
Rushing
-No forward laterals
-You are not down untill touched with two hands, or out of bounds
-If fumble occurs, and ball goes out of bounds, the spot of the ball is where
the ball went out
-If you fall and are on the ground, you are not down untill you are touched
-You can run the ball as much as you want, as long as it's not a quarterback
sneak
-If player counts 10 "bams" and the quarterback runs the ball, a quarterback
sneak will be charged
Defense
-You have to count 10 "bams" before you rush the quarterback unless you blitz
-You get 2 blitzes every set of downs
-Must touch ball carrier with 2 hands, anywhere on the body to get ball carrier
down
-If you hit a pass down behind the line of scrimmage, it is not a fumble
-If you touch the clothes of the ball carrier, he is not down
-If you blitz, you must yell blitz so everyone can hear it
Field Goals
-Counts as one point
-Can not be blocked
-No defenders are allowed on the field when the play takes place
-There must be a holder and a kicker on the offensive side of the ball
-You must kick the ball from the placed spot
-Once you state you are kicking a field goal, you must kick it
-No fake field goals
-Once you miss a field goal, your posession is over
-Defenders can not return field goals
-A field goal does not count if it bounces out of bounds, or land out of
bounds in the air
Kick Offs
-Onside kick is the onside kick line
-The ball can be touched by the receiving team before it passes mailbox
-If the ball touches in-bounds, then bounces out-of-bounds the receiving
team must take the ball where it went out
-If the ball goes out-of-bounds without bouncing in-bounds the receiving
team has the choice of taking it where it went out, or a re-kick
-The ball can be kicked or punted or thrown
-If ball hits curb, it is still in play
-Touchbacks are taken at the fire hydrant, and the end of the
driveway
Penalties
-Can not grab, push, pull, or make contact with receiver while ball is in
air
-Can not push or grab shirts at anytime
-No pushing at anytime
-Pass interfierence is an automatic first down,where the penalty took place
-Off-sides is five yards back or foward depending on who committed penalty
-Unsportsman like penalties are an automatic first down, and an automatic
completion
-If you overuse blitzes, or quarterback sneaks, the penalty is one completion
-If a penalty is committed on fourth and two by the defense, it is a
first down for the offensive team
-If a defender is on the field during a field goal, the penalty
is a completion added onto their following drive
Schedule
-Each team will play twelve games
-Each team will play six games in their own division
-Each team will play six games out of their division
-One game will determine a playoff round
Time
-Halves are ten minutes long
-Clock stops when incompletion takes place, people go out-of-bounds, posessions
change, or when injuries or penalties take place
-Referee or satistics keeper will keep time
-Half time is five minutes long
-Over time is played like NCAA rules, starting at the touchback line
-Game does not stop untill a team wins
Transactions
-A captain is the only one who has a say in a transaction
-Players may be traded at any time during the season, but before they are
traded, they must be notified by their team captain, and also the comissioner must know about the transaction before it happens
-Players can be released and picked up, but not untill after the third
week of the regular season
-If a free agent is picked up, they can not be over the age of sixteen
-There must be two players on each roster
-Once the playoffs start, no transactions are to be made if your team is
still eligible for play
-A captain can't trade himself
Other
-You can punt on fourth down
-Two completions is a first down, one quarterback sneak, two blitzes,
every set of downs
-If your entire team fails to show up to a game, they may use another player
that does not play for another team as long as the opposing captain permits the substitution
-Can not substitute players during a game unless player is injured or it
is ok with the opposing team. If the opposing captain does not permit the usage of another player, you must forfiet
the game
-The curb is always in play
-Not every field has to have all of the field features such as: field goals,
on-side kick boundaries, etc.
-A person that is not in the SFL can own a team
-If you reschedule a game, and then miss the rescheduled date, then you must
forfiet the game
-You must reschedule a game within 24 hours of the original scheduled date
-If a team folds, they will forfiet the remainder of their schedule untill
someone comes and makes the team their own
-If a team does not wear their team's colors to a game that they participate
in, the opposing team will receive the ball at the start of both halves of the game.
-If one of your players can't make the scheduled date, you have three days
to make the game up from the orginal scheduled date or your team will forfiet the game.
